January 2012 www.sname.org/sname/mt Dennis J. Fanguy is a 1984 grad- uate of the University of New Orleans with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engi- neering. He is currently the vice president of quality management system for Bollinger Shipyards in Lockport, Louisiana. Fanguy was awarded the 2003 Distinguished Alumni Award by the University of New Orleans, College of Engineering. He has served as the chairman of the Bayou Chapter of the American Society of Naval Engineers and is a member of SNAME. He is also active in other professional organizations such as the Oshore Marine Services Association, and is a National Shipbuilding Research Program executive control board member. He also volunteers on subcommittees for the National Oshore Safety Advisory Committee. Niki Lim is a graduate of Wake Forest University with a bach- elor?s degree in communication, with minors in political science and international studies. She has written for ALABAMA SEAPORT magazine, the ocial publication of the Alabama State Port Authority. Lim is a six-year public relations vet- eran and a native of Mobile, Alabama. Her work has won Medallion awards from the Public Relations Council of Alabama and Lantern awards from the Southern Public Relations Federation. If she?s not hanging around the house playing with her dogs, Charlie and Major, Niki can usually be found in a Starbucks. She resides in Birmingham, Alabama. Derren Liu is business develop- ment manager with GVA North America, a KBR company. He is a registered professional engi- neer with the state of Texas and holds Ph.D. and master?s degrees from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He has more than 25 years of oshore and civil projects experience with various technical and man- agement positions in the U.S. and China. Captain Edward Lundquist (United States Navy, Ret.) is a principal science writer with MCR in Arlington, Virginia. He is an award-winning senior-level communications professional with more than 29 years of public aairs, public relations, and corporate commu- nications experience in military, private association, and corporate service. During his 24-year naval career, Lundquist quali- ed as a surface warfare ocer and later served as a public aairs ocer. He retired from active duty in 2000. William Philip (Phil) Nuss is vice president of engineering and commercial programs at Trinity Yachts. He attended St. Paul School in Covington, Louisiana, where he graduated with hon- ors. He then attended Louisiana State University, graduating in 1979 with a bach- elor of science in mechanical engineering. He worked at Halter Marine as an engi- neer and then as manager of engineering, advancing to vice president of engineering and then to vice president of engineering development, developing sales proposals. In 2001, he joined Trinity Yachts as a pro- gram manager, and in 2002 became vice president. He has been involved in the design, engineering, and construction of numerous vessels, from private yachts to large government auxiliary ships. Michael Praught is director for GVA North America (a KBR company) in Houston, Texas. He is a naval architect with more than 40 years indus- try experience in the design of oshore structures including arctic drilling sys- tems, semisubmersibles, tension leg platforms, spars, and oating production storage and ooading units. His career includes 20 years of experience in oat- ing systems technology management. He holds a bachelor?s degree in naval archi- tecture and marine engineering from the University of Michigan.
